With the addition of the seam attack of Shah and our final signing, Bochat, that's our squad complete! Welcome to the side, Thad. :)

The panel is looking to set up some pre-season friendly games, however we're waiting on accurate simming stats from the CWBCC. We should hopefully get these soon enough.

EDIT: Would also like to make a welcome to what will much more than likely be our final rookie signing for some time to Mark Hopgood, a batsman and part-time fast bowler, much like Nayak who retired from the Colts last season.

We now have a very nice looking side indeed...

Batsmen (and batswoman, in Bharat's case)
P Bharat - (RHB)
SJ Burke - (keeper, RHB) long term leave, contract yet to be signed
CR Butler - (LHB/RM) selection panel
AS Das - (RHB/OS)
SG Fitzsimmons - (RHB) selection panel
MR Hopgood - (RHB/RF)
S Jasotharan - (keeper, RHB)
WA Kerr - (LHB/RM)
JB Malthus-Howell - (LHB/LM)
DP Towns - (RHB/OS) vice captain, selection panel

Spinners
JP McNamara - (RHB/LAS) selection panel
DK Rai - (RHB/LS) allrounder
TV Weber - (RHB/LLS) allrounder

Seamers
T Bochat - (LHB/LFM)
NR Hancock - (RHB/RFM) allrounder, selection panel
Manan Shah - (RHB/RMF)
GM Thomas - (RHB/RF) selection panel
MW Wilson - (RHB/RF) allrounder
KS Wright - (RHB/RFM) captain, selection panel

CW Colts have opted not to tour other sides this season but have instead chosen to play three 4-Day matches and three one-day games, pitting Colt against Colt with Wright and Towns leading the sides. The reason for not touring is that the selection panel were interested in seeing how every player would perform and did not want to resort to leaving any players on the bench. Four grade-side middle order batsmen have agreed to join up with the 18-person squad in order to make up the numbers.

On a slightly different note, Bharat has been given the job of backup keeper this season, although it's hoped that Jaso will find enough form to keep her away from the job behind the stumps. Bharat kept for a few games near the end of last season and managed to not embarass herself too much.

Eh..very low moment there.... Best keep the keeping standred up to scratch! Not to say that Bharat is a bad keeper, it's just I can do a lot more there rather then at slip.

Hmmm, How are you going to select the sides?

Same way any panel selects a side. Put the best players into preferred positions, fit other good players around them, take form into account, discuss with rest of panel, make adjustments as we see fit for any reason. Basically we'll pick the side we feel is most likely to help us win the league (availability will obviously also come into play with injuries and callups).

EDIT: Just realised you meant the pre-season sides. We'll be playing people, for the most part, in the positions we expect them to be in throughout the season. Some people are obviously more versatile with their position so have been given roles to fit around the others, but for the most part we've tried to get everyone where we want them. Obviously yourself and Bharat are in seperate teams as well as Kyle and myself. The other players fit into the sides and the sides will change when the form of game changes.
