That's not the point though, is it. You're hardly left in the **** with me retiring are you? ****'s sake. It was never about whether I was playing or not. Do you not get that?

Pitch revamp for second quarter

The CWBCC announced this afternoon that an effort to improve conditions will for bowlers will take effect from the start of the second quarter of the season. Ground staff around the country have been given strict instructions to adjust their pitch preparation in a manner than should allow more suitable conditions for development of bowlers.

While the board spokesman noted that this season has already seen a result-oriented start, with very few drawn results in the mix, he admitted that conditions have heavily favoured batting. Several scores over 600 was the main factor in the decision.

The adjustments will be as follows:

PDV Dome: Wear -1.
The starting conditions will see a pitch with a couple of cracks and some grass, which should help the fast bowlers, combined with the typically high bounce.

CWBCC Stadium, Pickford Reserve and CW Oval: Wear -1, Bounce -1.
As well as some cracks and grass on day one, the pitch will be a bit softer, with less extreme bounce. As such it will expected wear faster and inconsistent bounce will be a factor in the second half of the match.

Fardin Qayyumi CC and Casston Reserve will not undergo any change.

Hmm, changing pitches to suit the bowlers when 4 of the test batting lineup are averaging 35 or less in FC cricket with the bat.

Good move.

How come Pickford always gets left out of pitch discussions? it wasn't included in the stats thread and is ignored here...what are its stats?

Anyway conditions seems pretty balanced this season to me (y)

Greens have scored 600+ twice. Cause for concern IMO.

Its incredible that the CW Groundskeepers can force these pitch changes through instantaneously like this. Anywhere else in the world and pitch management is a very slow, labourious process.

Another good reason to live in CWLand.

It's a very subtle adjustment actually. It's not like turning PDV Dome into a spinner's paradise or anything. Just adding a bit more water to pitches and rolling them less.

Nothing to do with the pitch, should just go down as quality batting imo

Garven having a career year at the age of 65 or whatever. Cause for concern IMO.

FFS Shah is inactive and Heath is retired. Apart from Donald and Amir the only other up coming FC seamer is Mitchell, so dire. Hopefully these pitch changes make some difference.
