Lyon being in the OD team is bad because it means he does more press conferences which he's a dick in

Don’t think the toss will have such an effect. Pitches seem to be getting back to where we expected pre tournament. Don’t think the toss had any impact at all on yesterday’s result tbh.

Hopefully England as don't want Aussies to get their 6th. But feels like Aussies are going to crush England unfortunately here.

Apart from couple of matches Buttler is having poor tournament so far. Yeah he didn't got much chance in few matches but whenever he got chances he wasn't able to score or make impact (for example flop show against SL, Australia and NZ). His form is vital for England to have some chances in semis.

they could have done something cool but instead they will be boring

Australia confirmed on Sunday night that allrounder Mitch Marsh and batsman Matthew Wade had been drafted into the squad as cover for Khawaja and Marcus Stoinis (side strain), although this was not yet as official replacements. A final call on Khawaja and Stoinis would be made after the results of scans were known.

Marsh, who had been on standby for Stoinis earlier in the tournament, and Wade had been pulled from the Australia A tour of England, with that team about to take on Sussex in a four-day match on Sunday night.

Australia must have a slight advantage here . We didn't beat them in warmups or group . Our record against them in the World Cup is poor .

The Edgbaston crowd is traditionally a hotbed of partisan England support in Eng v Aus clashes but I'd wager there's a lot of tickets in South Asian hands as we speak . England haven't profited from much home advantage in their group games , with the notable exception of Durham the other day , when our local knowledge and 3 Durham bowling experts really made a difference.

In that respect , I am glad we are playing Australia because an India fixture would have felt like an 'away' game for us. . If the Hollies stand party crowd turns up on Thursday , it will be a wild event .

I think the replacements Handscomb, Wade and M. Marsh are actually better than S. Marsh, Khawaja and Stoinis...now just replace NCN and Richardson with Hazlewood and Pattinson and we'd have the perfect squad ;)

Wade coming in after being ignored for a year despite being in ridiculous form then hitting back to back tons to win Australia the WC would be one of the biggest “up yours” to a selection panel ever.

Guys we’re going to throw in the towel. Looks like there might be a big crowd on Thursday.

Mind you, Birmingham is such a **** hole you’d be happy to forfeit and get out of the joint. Second biggest city on the country and it’s biggest attraction is a shopping centre.

The only thing I know about Birmingham is that there are lots of breweries, or at least there were in the 1800s. Thanks Brass: Birmingham.

Somehow think England for this would be pretty ****ing amazing to be otherwise though. In other news, Jimmy Anderson may not be fit for the first test which is a real bummer
