I know I've said it before but Carey making the squad is pure insanity given some of the players that have missed out
Hardly, only other player who they could have realistically taken as a frontline keeper is Wade. I would never trust a non specialist keeper as the main option, not in a million yearsI know I've said it before but Carey making the squad is pure insanity given some of the players that have missed out
Wade would have been an excellent selectionHardly, only other player who they could have realistically taken as a frontline keeper is Wade. I would never trust a non specialist keeper as the main option, not in a million years
Yeah we have, still cannot comprehend why you would ever want to go that way. It is just a truly appalling ideaWade would have been an excellent selection
Disagree completely about the non-specialist keeper thing but I think we've had that discussion before
no it's not. It's risk/benefit. Benefit of having a much better batsman outweighs the risk of having a slightly worse keeper. You don't agree, that's fine. It's free country and you can be as wrong as you want.Yeah we have, still cannot comprehend why you would ever want to go that way. It is just a truly appalling idea
Yeah I know we've been through this lolYeah nah I cannot agree at all
Pretty much, hence the second bit of my post.Yeah I know we've been through this lol
Can definitely agree on that. If we can't have Wade or someone else better, and we're stuck with Carey, then definitely hoping that he performs far above the level that he's shown he's capable of so far.Either way I certainly hope Carey can justify the faith shown in him, Australia needs him to perform
We must remember that Symonds was rubbish for a couple of years before that innings vs Pakistan. But he was gunning it at state level. Carey hasn't been gunning it at state level. Can definitely agree on that. If we can't have Wade or someone else better, and we're stuck with Carey, then definitely hoping that he performs far above the level that he's shown he's capable of so far.
A Symonds 2003 World Cup-esque rise would be handy
