Tasteless tabloid gossip, imo. Even The Sun's better than that.

First match: Cricket Web XI vs Pakistan
    at CWBCC Stadium

    Scorecard
    Ball By Ball

Pakistan were utterly outclassed in their first fifty-over international at Edfield, victims of abysmal batting and hardly better bowling in fine batting conditions. Chris Butler and Sean Fuller continued their form from the Twenty20 series, while Neil Pickup was the chief destructor in an embarrassing collapse.

Shoaib Akhtar promised to make things difficult for the hosts, starting things off with a maiden, but there was little problems for the remaining 49 overs. The powerplays were perhaps not exploited expertly, as the score stood at 106 for two after twenty overs, but though Andrew Cloete dragged an off-spinner from Malik to Iftikhar at 65, that spelled the end of wicket-taking. The Webheads played cautiously till the 38th over, when Fuller smacked a hapless Iftikhar for sixteen runs, and a diet of threes boosted the score to an improbable 350 for three - Butler recording his fourth one-day international century, while Fuller missed out on his second after swift fielding from Misbah prevented the second run.

Salman Butt was caught behind in the first over, and Pakistan appeared to lose according to script. Younus Khan and Khalid Latif managed to stem the tide, however, but the required run rate spiralled towards nine an over, and in the despertaion Clapham snared Younus and ran out Khalid to begin the collapse. When Pickup bowled Kamran for his wicket, Pakistan required twelve an over from 18 overs, and the crowd began to filter out. Some faithful remained till the end, however, as Pakistan were skittled for 166 and Cricket Web ensured the bonus point victory.

Cricket Web XI 350 for three (50)
    Butler 127*, Fuller 97*, Cloete 65

    Pakistan 166 all out (43.5)
    Younus 39; Pickup 3/42, Gough 2/32

Pakistan so dire. Fuller so awesome. Stedman continuing his trend of sucking in 80% of his international innings.
Sreesanth said, "Next ball he was beaten and I said, 'is this the King Charles Lara? Who is this impostor, moving around nervously? I should have kept my mouth shut for the next ball - mind you, it was a length ball - Lara just pulled it over the church beyond the boundary! He is a true legend."
