The color of immortality, nature and envy - you are truly a unique person. While clearly the color of nature, you also symbolize rebirth, fertility and hope in the world. On the other side of the spectrum, a natural aptitude to money with green coming to signify money and possibly even *********!

Strong looking squad. If the tests are anything to go by, 400+ won't be a surprise.

Agreed, congrats Chaulk and Stedman - well deserved callups.

As Clapo mentioned, pleased the selectors showed some faith in me after some indifferent showings lately.

Heres to a clean sweep (Y)

Lovely stuff from all the CWXI boyos, really taking the game to the bangladeshis.

    Agreed for a clean sweep.

    1st ODI

    Cricket Web XI v Bangladesh
    at Pickford Reserve

    Scorecard
    Ball By Ball

In a game dominated by the batsmen, only four wickets fell, with debutant James Stedman the only Webhead who had to trudge back to the pavilion as the hosts chased down a testing target of 240 with ease. The fast bowlers lacked zip on a slow wicket, while the batsmen showed themselves as expert negotiators of difficult turn, leaving Halsey as the only spin bowler with respectable figures.

Bangladesh impressed after winning the toss and batting, with both Javed Omar and Shahriar Nafees scoring reasonably quickly against a too inaccurate spell from the seamers. They made 67 for the first wicket before Gough struck in the eleventh over, making the in-form batsman Rajin Saleh join Shahriar Nafees at the crease. And what the bowlers had made a formality during the Test series could not be replicated here. Rajin continued his fine tour with a solid innings, though the slow strike rate would ultimately cost Bangladesh a target with which they could perhaps have challenged. Instead, Halsey tied the batsmen down acceptably in his ten overs, and though the partnership was worth 142 the total stood at 240 for three.

In the Dev League against a team not named Black, this would have been an acceptable total. Unfortunately for the tourists, the first three batsmen earn their keep at Pickford and know the ground in and out. Stedman looked set to make his debut a particularly memorable one as he raced to 36 off 27 balls, but was inexplicably given out lbw to Rasel, leaving Cloete to finish the job with Chaulk. This he did with ease, and he also celebrated his second One-day International century, driving Saqibul for two down the ground to record the hundred in 97 balls. Chaulk was oddly subdued, hitting only two boundaries and ending with an unbeaten 88, but it still yielded the batsman's highest score in international cricket.

    Bangladesh 240-3 (50 overs)
    Shahriar Nafees 101, Rajin Saleh 72*; TC Halsey 1-32 (9), KJ Gough 1-33 (9)

Cricket Web XI 243-1 (44.5 overs)
AP Cloete 112*, AP Chaulk 88*; Syed Rasel 1-48 (8)

Cricket Web XI won by 9 wickets
Man of the Match: A. P. Cloete (Cricket Web XI)

Great to see Nafees and Saleh in the runs, they just didn't get enough.

Lucky innings for Rajin Saleh. A dropped chance and 3 or 4 lbw appeals turned down. That said, Chaulk had a plumb appeal given not out too.
Sreesanth said, "Next ball he was beaten and I said, 'is this the King Charles Lara? Who is this impostor, moving around nervously? I should have kept my mouth shut for the next ball - mind you, it was a length ball - Lara just pulled it over the church beyond the boundary! He is a true legend."

Competitive performance from Bangladesh. Webhead batting was unforgiving.

ie CW Black batting. When Ian returns, we could conceivably have a CW Black top four and bottom two.
