  • West CWLand qualifier Pierre Rose has advanced to the second round in Bogota with a nailbiting three set win over Italy's Marco Pellegrini. Early last month Pellegrini took the €42.5K Challenger in Rabat to improve his ranking, and had plenty of opportunities to take the first set. But in a marathon tiebreaker, Rose somehow saved five set points before taking it 12-10 to set up a surprise lead. It seemed business as usual in the second as Pellegrini began to attack the lines and draw errors from Rose who was run around the court. But he could not keep that intensity up, and after leading 3-0 in the third was reeled back in by Rose who snatched six of the last seven games to set up a second round showdown with seventh seed Henrikk Henrikkson 7-6(10), 2-6, 6-4.

  • Joining him in the second round is teenage prodigy Marcuss Deane who continued his rollicking form on the clay to beat Sébastien Lachance four and two. Deane's performances have been inconsistent, but he looked all too good for the Frenchman in a comfortable win. After looking a bit tentative early, Deane hit his strides as Lachance made too many errors to stay in the game. While Deane probably doesn't have the power to hit many winners on clay, he looked very good as he served seven second set aces to win 6-4, 6-2.

  • Eighth seed and Campsfield champion Roy Daniels, meanwhile, was trounced in his first match going down three and three to Estonia's Taavi Aleksejev.

  • Seeded players out:
    Roy Daniels;
    Néstor Moreno;
    Yevgeny Pushkov.

Awesome :D
Fancy my chances against Rodriguez, just need to get a string of decent performances together. Blowing hot and cold sucks major ass when you bottle it in the later rounds :(

  • Teenage sensation Marcuss Deane has continued his winning ways in South America with a straight sets thrashing of qualifier Julio Rodriguez. In fairness to the Argentine, he was coming off the back of a tough three set win in the first round but was completely outclassed by the FR CWLander who romped to a 6-2, 6-0 win. Deane, the Campsfield finalist, has dropped just one game on serve in his two matches and now faces Chile's Rodrigo Jerez after he stunned former French Open finalist Johan Ortiz 6-3, 6-3 to continue the Colombian's frustrating run of form.

  • It was back-to-back tight ones for Pierre Rose, but no dice this time as seventh seeded Swede Henrikk Henrikkson came from a set down to defeat him. Rose had one of the longer first round matches, but still looked fresh here as he took the game to Henrikkson in the first set. But the seventh seed has been in solid form as of late, and regained some of the form that saw him smack Evgeny Volkoff one and two on Monday to surge into the quarter finals on the back of some disciplined tennis 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.

  • Seeded players out:
    Valter Cordiero;
    Christopher Durand;
    Johan Ortiz.

  • Teenager Marcuss Deane is through to the semi finals of the indoor clay event in Colombia after racing through the third set to beat Rodrigo Jerez. After a poor second set against the Chilean, Deane looked in very real trouble as Jerez took all the momentum in the decider. But Deane, who has often been criticised for his poor fitness in an otherwise impressive game, showed no signs of fatigue as he breezed through the decider to secure a 7-5, 2-6, 6-0 win in impressive fashion. He now faces a tough semi against Kazakh World No. 164 Ilja Nesterov who accounted for Ecuador's Miguel Molina 7-5 6-3.

  • The other semi final pits local Carlos Conzá and seventh seeded Swede Henrikk Henrikkson. Henrikkson was dynamite in his 6-2, 6-0 thrashing of top seed Dênis Rodrígues who had previously dropped just seven games in his first two rounds. Rodrígues struggled with fitness and did well to complete the match.

  • Seeded players out:
    Dênis Rodrígues.

Yes! Ortiz would've been tough but obviously Jerez is no push over. Tough match coming up.
........................

Into the semis! :D Not sure what happened in that second set, will write if off as a one off. Started to hit the ball really well in the final set, so just need to carry that on through to the Semis.
Tough opposition from here.

  • Marcuss Deane's impressive run in Colombia has come to an end in the semi finals as solid Kazakh Ilja Nesterov eased to a straight sets victory. The teenager had claimed some big wins this week, but so too had Nesterov who already had the scalp of fourth seed Valter Cordiero in dominant style. That quality of tennis continued into this semi final contest as Nesterov managed to be one of the first players to tame the Deane serve as the teenager looked distinctly tired after Friday's tough three-setter against Rodrigo Jerez. The well-developed Central Asian player showed why he is highly rated by Kazakh supporters as he returned everything Deane threw at him in a protracted 6-4, 6-3 win to set up a finals clash with Henrikk Henrikkson.

  • Seeded players out: None.

Fml. So frustrating that I've not managed to go on in a tournament, semis is a good run but need to get a title under my belt.
