Definitely wouldn't want to come up against this side on a turner. Herath-Swann has to be one of the best spin combinations possible, plus Hafeez/Alam/Dilshan as back-ups, and a spare wrist-spinner.

Hafeez should be a proper bowler at this level. In fact he's a proper bowler at Test level on the right surface, which will no doubt be exactly the sort of surface Howe prepares at home.

Yeah, looking at Test stats over the last two years or so, Hafeez would get into every side in this, even without his batting.

Also, can we try to program in Known Facts of Test Cricket (e.g. opening the bowling with Hafeez against left-handers always works)?

LIttle overrating of Hafeez's bowling going on... 26 wickets @ 35s including series against Bang, Zim and in the WI and we've all seen what the decks are like over there.

Averages 26 with the ball, in Tests, since Jan 2010.

With what? About 14 wickets?

Nope, 22. Of which 10 came on joke pitches in the WI or against Zimbabwe. Besides those series he's got 12 @ 36.
He wouldn't make my side on bowling alone. That's for sure.
