Tbf he could yet drop Ganguly. If he wanted him then it made sense to pick him now seeing as he's not likely to be available next round whereas he may feel that a bowler of similar quality, to one he could've picked now, will still be available.

Think he's banking on a trade tbh, and just going with a pick-whoever's-best philosophy. Risky but could pay off.

Still a good pick, mind, 6th ranked player overall in s1 iirc. Bur risky.

Prioritising your twelfth man ahead of your four bowler seems to take the theory a little far.

Yeah, might still do that but unsure after what happened last season, when i did the same and as a result the long tail ended up costing me games.

I had thought about picking some bowlers or a batting all rounder before my pick, but they were gone by the time my pick came so just went with what best i could get and needed a batsman who could bowl a bit too.

Might consider a trade later too, i guess.

If that does end up being your top seven i can see your card at the end of the season looking like

wins: 3
draws: 10
losses: 3

I've got a really obvious player in mind that you could've gone for..

Will probably need to prepare some sort of H4x deteriorating pitch if the lineup stays like it is.

Probably need to do some more research before my next pick. Got another player remaining on my shortlist right now and he is another batsman who i am surprised hasn't been picked yet.

Sooner or later people will realise that season 1 was complete bat****, and picking based on what happened there will generally not be helpful. Especially if you're picking players that have been twiddling their thumbs for the intervening year.
