magpie edition - historical scenarios

Hi.

I was wondering if anyone has been able to edit an historical scenario?

P.S.

On the icc2002 general database. I moved all of the zimbabwe born players back to zimbabwe. Hick, Beckenstein etc.

They won the world cup.

how did you do it

Hi dave.

How did you do it?

I followed the step by step instructions for magpie and applied it to both sc1 and sc2.

What do i have to do different to make it work?

Thankyou.

Copy datap.db and datat.db in the sc1 folder

Paste them into the main ICC folder. You will need to rename them so that they do not overwrite the main datap.db and datat.db files. I called them sc1datap.db and sc1datat.db

Now convert the databases using convdb
so convdb -d sc1datap.db sc1data.db1
and convdb -d sc1datat.db sc1datat.db1

Open up magpie and open the file sc1datat.db1

You will probably get an error message, close it down, and you can edit.

Save when done. Close magpie. Convert the sc1datap.db1 back to sc1datap.db and sc1datat.db1 to sc1datat.db

Copy files into sc1 folder

Rename them datap.db and datat.db

Job done!

Hi DAve

Thankyou for the tips.

I can't get it to work though.

When I go to use magpie, the sc1 database is not listed on the menu. Only the original datat.db.

Any suggestions?

I followed your instructions to the letter.

I have Icc 2002.

this only happens when i try to edit historical scenarios, like sc1 or wc 1999.

btw, i did copy the dbs to the root directory.
here is a screenshot. this happens as soon as a click File->Open

Don't worry about that error box.

Close it or click on another player. then you can proceed as expected.

You should notice that the last player entry in the list is not actually a player but something to do with that error message.

you're right davey, but still the save is disabled
Sorry - I had misunderstood you.

To be honest when I did it I did not try and change anything in magpie. So I never saved it (or tried). Given that I have rebuilt my computer since then I can't even check that I get the same problem as you.

You can only edit and save SC5 - 2002 Australia v England and the World Cup 1999 scenarios.

I think this is because they use the same database of players.

I hope this helps.

Attempt failed

Hi Dave.

You came up with a good strategy.

I tried , yet it still won't open.

Or when I renamed the dataP and dataT

It does'nt appear in the file to edit.

I followed instructions step by step.

Looks like we have to wait for development from Neil and Co.

Thankyou for trying.

Here's a slightly simpler version

copy the original datap and datat files. Put them in a folder to keep them safe!

I am assuming you have all the relevant files in your ICC folder.
Now just copy the datap and datat file from SC5 folder and paste it into the ICC folder.
It should give you the prompt to overwrite files. Click yes.
Run magpie.

When finished copy datap and datat back into the SC5 file.

SC1, 2 ,3 & 4 won't work.

The problem is the fact that the main (2002/03) database is designed for 1,649 players. The other DBs don't have that number so won't load properly. I'm sure there's a work-around somewhere, but surely any scenario-editing could be done to SC5?

It works on SC5

Hi Dave and Neil.

Thankyou for your help.

It works.

This editor is fantastic. I've spent hours updating proifles and stats.

Minor Niggles.

Can't change the team names, dates or wipe out irrelvent players.

Black Players have become white ( I didn't know Michael Jackson had started to play cricket ... lol. )
Thankyou Mitchell
