RSC Test Cricket browser-based game

Brett1231

Cricket Spectator
RSC Test Cricket is a brand new homegrown browser-based Test cricket simulation game. The game contains over 2000 statistic-based representions of Test players from the eight major cricketing countries from 1877-2009 - literally every Test cricketer of all time! You can recreate any classic Test of the past or match up squads from different eras. You select your players, decide on a batting order and choose the bowlers. Batsman and bowlers perform true to their averages and economy. Bowlers are also divided by style and rated for endurance allowing for strategy decisions based on game, wicket and ball conditions. Decide whether to play conservatively or aggressively. Ball-by-ball commentary is provided with a growing database of results. An easy to print scorecard is produced at the end of each test and comprehensive statistics are kept for all tests played.

There is no registration or download necessary. The game is strictly browser-based and free to play at RSC TEST CRICKET

Good game but some mistakes like this :

23.4 Owais Shah (24) WICKET!
OUT, edged and taken! Kallis removes Yuvraj, chasing a drive outside off stump and Kallis at second slip makes no mistake with his buckets

Shah c.Kallis@Slips b.Kallis and Yuvraj???

Interesting.

Couldn't take a wicket with England 89, which sounds about right.

Also, spin/pace commentary seems off. You get floated balls by pacers and reversing balls from spinners.

Andrew Strauss 6
2.2 Steve Harmison to Andrew Strauss, SIX, SIX Strauss gets on his knee and slog sweeps it over deep midwicket.

8.2 Alastair Cook (22) WICKET!
OUT, Harmison strikes! Cook goes opting to pad away a delivery tossed up full just outside off stump, he doesn't get a massive stride forward and the ball turns back to hit him, Harmison asks the question very confidently and the umpire agrees

Clearly it thinks Big Steve has had a huge attack of CBA on the first morning as opposed to the typical second afternoon... it has also recorded the wicket as a "bowled" and then placed a maiden in Harmison's analysis. He went from 3-0-10-0 to 3-1-10-1 to 4-1-16-1.

27.1 Ian Bell (50) WICKET!
OUT, well held, Jones! Belly falls close before stumps, chipping a generously tossed up delivery back towards Jones's left and he dives to take a very good catch, ending Belly's innings

27.1 overs is nowhere near stumps, and also recorded as b SP Jones who is bowling spin, again (so is Gilo). Bell pissing away a start is good.

I don't have the inclination to test anymore, but there's a lot to go on above - nice idea, though. Suggest a "whole match sim" button will help testers.

Currently on strike rates of 20. Certainly possible to go slow.

Find it a bit strange that all bowlers are suddenly rejuvenated at the change of innings, though.

The first ball of an innings should be 0.1, not 1.1

1.1 = 1 over has been bowled, this is the first ball of the 2nd over.

I feel a bit bad that I've stuffed up the records and averages of many of the players.

Some issues I had with the game
* Run outs shouldn't go to the bowler
* Scorecards would look better if it said who caught the ball aswell
* The ball the batsman gets out on should count as a ball on the stats.
* Less 6's, more ones and twos needed.
* Where is Bangladesh?

This is a good idea and this is 2nd day I'm playing it :)
