I thought Lehmann did well captaining the side, he's shown that he has good leadership qualities. All in all i was pleased with the performance and some of these guys will definately be considered for the Internations"

Match Report – One Day Friendly - Australia vs. Middlesex:
Middlesex won the toss and elected to bat, their opener Weekes was removed for a duck in Gillespie's first over. Australia’s opening bowlers were pretty economical in their opening spells, Lee came on first change and picked up two wickets. Middlesex rebuilt their innings with a strong 4th wickets partnership between Strauss and Nash, but after that partnership was broke by Watson bowling Strauss they lost a steady flow of wickets. Their innings finished on 8/208, Strauss made 76 and for Australia Lee, McGrath and Hogg all took two wickets.

Australia started very well; they were 1/135 after 20 overs. They lost Ponting and Gilchrist in quick succession but they were in no real trouble and they cruised to the victory target of 209 with 15.1 overs to spare. Gilchrist made 76 and Razzaq took 2/45.

Match Report – One Day Int. - Australia vs. Pakistan:
We lost there toss and were put in to bat on a fairly even wicket, Gilchrist had a few LBW shouts go his way early as he looked to attack. After 10 overs Australia were 0/60 with Gilchrist on 40 of 26 balls and Hayden 20 of 34 balls. Gilchrist’s attacking innings came to an end on 62 when he was trapped in front by Mahmood, Ponting fell shortly after and the score was 2/123 with the RR at over 6. Hayden fell in the next over and the batsman started to compose them selves a little bit more, the score was 3/148 after 30 overs. Australia started to lose quick wickets but Kasprowicz and Gillespie both played very handy innings at the end to get the score up to 264. Top score was 62 by Gilchrist and the best of the Pakistan bowlers was Azhar Mahmood who took 3/56 of 10.

McGrath and Gillespie bowled tightly early and Gillespie picked up the first wicket getting Nasim Khan caught behind for 19. Anwar was run out for 27 and following the wicket the Req. RR reached 6 an over. Watson picked up a wicket with his first ball and after another run out the score was 4/75 with a Req. RR of 6.1, Australia picked up the key wicket of Youhana for 51 creating yet another run out. Lehmann had Hussain stumped for 17 and the equation was 106 of 98 balls to win with 4 wickets in hand. A fantastic innings from Nawaz stole the game from Australia, he made 92 of 76 balls and he also received good support from Mahmood who made 38 from 43. Pakistan got home with 13 balls to spare and 4 wickets in hand.

Coaches Comment: “We decided to give Gilly a rest because he was a bit sore from the cricket he's been playing, we've also dropped Watson and bought in Hogg. Hopefully the boys can beat Pakistan and move to the top of the table."
