Is he fit though? Whether or not he's fit and plays will greatly affect whether or not he'll reach 10,000 faster than Lara. Not that anyone's counting.
He's unlikely to play in the first test but its felt his presnce has a positive effect on the team. He is the extra (15th) player in the squad. Normally it would have been 14. Its also felt that this way he will be under watch of the team physio for his elbow recovery.
Evens things out *nicely* if so.
Can't help thinking, myself, that Tendulkar really would be best served getting the thing operated on rather than trying to muddle through it. Yes, he'll miss cricket, but in the end it'll be best for everyone (himself and the team) if he gets the thing dealt with and out of the way.
And shouldn't this really be discussed in the Aus-Ind thread?
