I certainly wouldn't ask Kallis to bowl 10 overs if I were Smith. He's their best batsman by some way and a crucial part of their batting success. You don't want to burden him.

The thing about Gayle and Flintoff is that they offer a genuine 10 over option, but are also good enough to bat in the top order, and thus allow 4 other 10 over options.

No other side has such a player IMO.

And you have to got back to 2001 against Australia when he's bowled 10 overs and made a significant contribution with the bat, and that was batting first.

Personally I don't think his bowling is good enough to class him the best all rounder any more.

As has been explained above, Kallis has not done it recently and will thus likely not do it until he retires.

and until he delivers in ODIs he cant be said to be anything but overrated....thats like saying vaughan or slater for that matter were not overrated in ODIs because they had the potential to play better than what they actually did. i dont rate someone based on how much potential they have,i rate them on performance.
