My point was that because batsmen were watching for the doosra, they were more likely to get out to his regular deliveries. It's one of the reasons spin bowlers have a variety, even when some balls aren't as good. Warnes 'flipper' took any number of wickets back when it was feared, not because it was bowled that often, but because batsmen who had trouble picking him worried about it and didn't get across to the leggie early enough, or with enough commitment.honestbharani said:I would agree that he did get a few wickets with the doosra but he only started bowling that delivery recently and he has gotten wickets with his other deliveries as well.
As for bowling it recently, many commented when he got reported that he had been bowling it for a year ( or more ) and used that to press the point that it was the Australians at fault for him being reported.
