Just to introduce myself I am fourteen years old and a keen cricketer. PArt time I also DJ.

Well here is the problem I have been asked to do the live PA at my cricket club and they want me to play music when batsmen get out etc like at 20/20 matches. They are having a twenty twenty tournament and I need to know the songs that are played at TWENTY TWENTY MATCHES.

I need to know the names and artists for the following

The songs for 4's and 6's

The tracks when a batsmen gets out
1)one goes na na nar ye hay hay etc
2)the other where it goes something like - i will go back(Sorry if that is totally wrong!)
and any other tracks they play.

Also I thought I would play the Queen track- Another One Bites the dust.
when a batsmen gets out!

And where can I get the Twenty Twenty theme tune from?

Additionally they want music when a batsmen walks out. What songs did they play at the twenty twenty matches?

Anything other songs that have been used would be great!

Thanks for any help,

Andrew

how about trying to find fitting songs not used in the real 20/20

The first song is Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye...done by loads of people but most famously by Bananarama

I think a version of 10cc's Dreadlock Holiday is also used

I think another one they might use is 'Howzat' by Sherbert

But if I were you (I too am a DJ) I would find other songs to make it a bit more different...maybe also try and find out what songs the batsmen like, so you could play them when they go out to bat (like they did in NZ a bit ago)

Yeah, it's 10cc's Dreadlock Holiday "I don't like cricket" that's used a lot. I don't remember the others because I've not got Sky and my only Twenty20 experience was at the final last year at Trent Bridge [/rant]

I suggest you get a few choruses from upbeat, high-tempo tracks and use them for the boundaries ("Hey Baby"?!)

As for the batsmen on their way to the middle, I'd ask them (or send letters to the sides, etc, or get a selection for the day) which tracks they'd like individually. Personally I'd go for "Mr Brightside" right now, and I know Tuffers went for "Cigarettes and Alcohol" in NZ a few years back.

I've dug out a list of what different players used during the VB Series in 2003-04 (India/Australia/Zimbabwe)

Australia
Ricky Ponting - Chemical Heart by Grinspoon
Adam Gilchrist - On My Mind by Powderfinger
Michael Bevan - Final Countdown by Europe
Andy Bichel - Holy Grail by Hunters and Collectors
Nathan Bracken - Addicted to Bass
Michael Clarke - It's My Life by Bon Jovi
Jason Gillespie – Gel by Collective Soul
Ian Harvey - Leaps and bounds
Matthew Hayden - Get Set by Taxi Ride
Brad Hogg – Thunderstruck by AC/DC
Brett Lee – Locomotion by Kylie Minogue
Damien Martyn - Bad Boyz II (Soundtrack)
Andrew Symonds - Waltzing Matilda by John Williamson
Brad Williams - Are You Gonna Be My Girl? by Jet

India
Rahul Dravid - Forever Young by Alphavane/Rod Stewart
Sourav Ganguly - I'm a believer by Smash Mouth
Virender Sehwag - Let's get loud by Jennifer Lopez
VVS Laxman - Let me entertain you by Robbie Williams
Murali Kartik - Spinning around by Kylie Minogue
Ajit Agarkar - Beautiful Day by U2
Parthiv Patel - Get what you give by New Radical
Irfan Pathan - It's my life by Bon Jovi
Sachin Tendulkar - No Song by No Artist
Lakshmipathy Balaji - Born to try by Delta Goodrem
Sanjay Bangar – A Little less conversation by Elvis Presley
Anil Kumble - No Song by No Artist
Yuvraj Singh - You really got me - The Kinks
Hemang Badani - Are you gonna go my way by Lenny Kravitz

Zimbabwe
Heath Streak - Beautiful Day by U2
Tatenda Taibu - Shake your body by Shy FX
Andy Blignaut – Freestyler by Bomfunk
Stuart Carlisle – Elevation by U2
Sean Ervine - Let me entertain you by Robbie Williams
Grant Flower - History repeating by Propella Heads
Travis Friend - It's my life by Bon Jovi
Douglas Hondo - Where's your head at by Basement Jaxx
Stuart Matsikenyeri - Better Man by Robbie Williams
Blessing Mahwire - I'm a believer by Smash Mouth
Ray Price - Can't get you out of my head by Kylie Minogue
Vusi Sibanda- Life's like a rollercoaster by Ronan Keating
Mark Vermeulen – A Little less conversation by Elvis Presley
Craig Wishart - Let's get loud by Jennifer Lopez

As another DJ (exclusive club!), thinking of the logistics of it, I'd suggest a couple CDs with the music clips (not the tracks in their entireities) burnt in advance (all pre-faded to the same level!) so that you could prepare one disk with the boundary music pre-faded ready to fire as the ball crosses the rope, and another with the next batsmens' music and dismissal music on.
