I doubt he will play, but I would have no quarrels with him being tried with...

Quite funny to see him and Pietersen bat...

"'OI', got any English batsmen?"

I feel that if there is someone born in England who has been doing well, he deserves the place more, which is why I say Chris Schofield should play for England(don't say you didn't see his innings today, you know it was awesome)

Yeah, he was 12th man at one point. Can't remember when!

And no, I don't want Spearman anywhere near the England side. A quick glance at his ODI record for NZ should tell you why!

It might...they might choose the ones who are the best at making tea or fetching another pair of gloves for the batsman

Waste of time...it would be a backward step by England to call up a 32 year old who's previous record in international record is bordering on the poor.

Roger Twose born in England, lived there till his mid twenties, played for NZ.

Over the years if you check the backgrounds of lot of the early cricketers to play for Australia, NZ, SA you will find a lot of them were born in England lived most of their lives there but turned up for these countries after arriving there 1 or 2 years previously !!

If it is Ok for the English to turn up and play for these countries, why then should Carig Spearman not be allowed to play for England ??

England ODI team could easily do with the talents of some one like Craig Spearman or Stuart Law (who may also become eligible to play for England) !!

The performances of England in ODIs can only get better with the quality and experience of these experienced and absolute professionals!!

May be he was a flop for NZ in the past. But his current form in England seems to be good. So he may do well if he's given a second chance for England . If they don't try him, they are never going to know are they ?

Looking at the average performances of England in ODIs an ODI specialist like Spearman or Stuey Law can only make them better and not worse IMO.

Spearman wouldn't make any International side better.

And England have no hang-ups whatsoever on picking non-English borns.. in fact, I couldn't tell you when we last picked an XI without one.

I agree with what you say Re- England picking non-English born. My comment was in response to Steds (ie picking non English over English born).

Andy Bichel has now scored his 3rd century of the season playing for Worcestershire. Has now scored 640 runs at 45.71 with 3 centuries and 2 50's.

Enough said.

Stuart Law is heaps better than Spearman

but i dont think either should playfor england, even if it costs them a few ODI's it would be worthwhile blooding a younger player
