Vic Bushrangers 04/05 Squad

http://www.bushrangers.com.au/defaul...i=News&id=1210

State Player Contract List 2004-2005

Cricket Victoria Chief Executive Officer Ken Jacobs today announced seventeen State contracted players and three Rookie contracted players for 2004/2005 season.

The Bushrangers squad also includes Cricket Australia contracted players Matthew Elliott, Ian Harvey, Brad Hodge and Shane Warne.

Pre-season training for the squad will begin on Thursday, 1 July at the Victorian Cricket Centre at 2.00pm.

The full squad is:
Jason Arnberger
Robert Cassell
Gerard Denton
Matthew Elliott (CA)
Ian Harvey (CA)
Shane Harwood
Brad Hodge (CA)
David Hussey
Mathew Inness
Nick Jewell
Brendan Joseland
Michael Klinger
Michael Lewis
Andrew McDonald
Jonathan Moss
Peter Roach
Graeme Rummans
Shane Warne (CA)
Tim Welsford
Cameron White
Allan Wise

Rookies
Aiden Blizzard
Adam Crosthwaite
Brad Knowles

A number of players who performed well in last season's Premier Cricket competition have been invited to train with the squad throughout the pre-season. The invited players list is:
Matthew Gale (Ringwood CC)
Brett Harrop (Melbourne University CC)
Ian Hewett (Richmond CC)
Glenn Lalor (St Kilda CC)
Grant Lindsay (Geelong CC)
Clinton McKay (Essendon CC)
Dirk Nannes (Hawthorn Monash University CC)
Sean Pietersz (Camberwell Magpies CC)
Damian Shanahan (Camberwell Magpies CC)

---------------------------------------------

So with Crosthwaite only on a rookie contract and Pilon not even considered, you would imagine that Peter Roach is getting first dibs on the gloves.

Interesting Klinger is back, I dare say he wouldn't be if Hookesy was still around.

Best XI
Elliott
Arnberger
Hodge
Moss
Hussey
White
Roach
Warne
Lewis
Wise
Inness

Best XI looks very strong, Vic seem to have a good chance of retaining their title.

I'm not too dissimilar a batsman to Bradman.
Both of us have batting averages below 100.

interesting, Pilon is a pretty useful batsman and keeper - and a very nice striker of the ball.

I rate Roach highly - would have played many more games if Berry wasn't No. 1 for so long

How long until the season begins?
