Your gutsy calls for 2020

Aside from the hindsight and foresight puns this 12 upcoming months will choke us on, what are willing to go out on a limb predicting?

I reckon
Zimbabwe will be stripped of test status
Afghanistan will win more test matches than Sri Lanka
Cricket Kenya will be dissolved
Root to score more test match runs than Kohli

Root to score more test match runs than Kohli
That's not that gutsy. He did that in 2019 too (2019 Cricket Team Records & Stats | ESPNcricinfo.com) and probably 2018, and 2017 etc etc. He's played 4 more tests, and England continue to play the most tests out of any team.
On top of that, India had a slew of innings victories this year so didn't need Kohli to bat out both innings.

Edit: Just summarised below
Kohli averages 68.00 from 8 tests (11 innings) with 612 runs
Root averages 36.50 from 12 tests (22 innings and counting) with 803 runs

Literally played twice as many innings.

That is rather weird.

1. No, in 2021.
2. No, SL will win due to their lack of draws.
3. No, and they'll come back into WC contention after 25 years.
4. Yes but hardly gutsy as pointed out by deathscar.

Rory Burns to outscore all other test openers in 2020
Jofra Archer to be leading wicket taker in test cricket

India to continue to dominate Test cricket, but Kohli will be banned for overrates at some point
Cameron Green to make his international debut and win MOTM, only to break down shortly thereafter
Sri Lanka change coaches at least twice during the calendar year
QDK gets the South African captaincy in all formats, and it rapidly becomes an unmitigated disaster for all involved
Langer will find some way to shoehorn Cameron Bancroft back into the Australian team yet again
The SACA's will actually become a decent Sheffield Shield side

OK, maybe that last one is a bit too unrealistic

a central stags bowler will finally deliver on his talent
at least two big name test players will announce shock retirements. one will be a player retiring to follow god and do missionary (:naughty:) work.

Burns won't find a stable opening partner all year
Foakes, Woakes and Stokes will happen at long last.
Paine's swansong will come to its conclusion
Faf to retire (Edit: By doing an AB and going full on T20 merc)
Australia will win the T20 world cup, thereby proving nothing.
Pattinson will suffer yet another injury
South Africa will suck immensely
Kohli's brakes will not yet slam
Stoinis to debut
Wagner will have started the degradation of Smith
Rahane will make up somewhat for years of slumber in performances
Ross daddy will retire from Limited Overs
Kraigg Brathwaite will be dropped
People will keep saying Kusal Mendis and Shai Hope are class as they do piss all in Tests all year.

England to continue it's decline into minnow status
BCCI to only schedule home matches or away games against weaker teams
South Africa and Sri Lanka to recover to somewhat respectable cricket teams
Australia and India to be the powerhouses of world cricket with little competition
The whole world will realise that Travis Head is an absolute hack who belongs in his Grade 2nd XI

The Hundred will be a commercial success
Definitely. The Vitality already gets well attended games despite 3/4 of the crowd just there for a social night out rather than the cricket. A few little rule changes won't change that.

Any predictions wrt English players which are purely cumulative are kind of cheating a bit for reasons already outlined.

I hope this gutsy calls thing becomes a yearly CW tradition. I nabbed the term from some crappy big bash pre game channel 7 segment last year

Root to get the arse from the test captaincy.
Jofra Archer to miss more than two tests through injury.
Simon Harmer and/or Kyle Abbott announce their intention to qualify for England.
