I don't think Smith will become mediocre or anything all of a sudden, but it is an usual thing for people to take aim at someone who is at the top. That is just how these predictions go. The upside of being right (even being the smallest percentage) is so much more than the downside of being wrong. If you are right, you get to say "see, I told you so when he was the top" but if you are wrong, all you have to do is shrug and say "well, he was great" and move on.


That said, my not as gutsy as Gnske calls for 2020:

RCB to be one of the top 3 teams in IPL 2020. Not sure of how they will go in the play-offs.
RSA to be one of the top 3 teams in the WT20 in Aus. Again, not sure how they will go in the KOs.

And my favorites to do well all year, the usual prediction/wish for the new year.
