Whatever it takes!!!
Yeah.. Vijay Shankar being a better bowler than you is not good news if you wanna play in this side. Wonder if they will bring in Chahal or Thakur ahead of Dube next game.

Is Thakur in the squad? Thought we were finally rid of him ffs.

This bowling lineup had such a sub par look. No wonder it turned up into nothing of sorts. Bring some specialists please.

Shai Hope is WI's version of what Dravid used to be in our ODI team in the '00s. Well played.

I love the batting-balance of this WI team. We now have at least 4 batsmen who know how to methodically craft hundreds.

Can see Hope's style giving WI problems if chasing over 300, though. And still not sold on their bowling attack. But other than these minor niggles, this looks the best WI ODI batting side in a long while.

We were just beaten by a side with 7 bowling options and 4 allrounders mate. Chahal could have played here and would have gone the journey too, given the mood and form of Hetmeyer. And you have seen how hopeless Chahal, Kuldeep, Shami and even Dube are on the field. I hope someone like Shreyas Gopal can really turn into a proper attacking leggie for the white ball formats for us.

Ffs Harsha. No Phil Simmons doesn't look like Morgan Freeman you awkward idiot.
 That was one of those awkward moments where I thought he must think the mic is off. Ridiculous comment.

Delighted obviously. That's another very cerebral performance where we didn't just hit the bigger sixes, we played the smarter cricket. So good to see after years of idiocy.

Hety can be really frustrating but 5 ODI hundreds already at a career strikerate of well over 100 is insanely good.

Absolutely the balance is just right. Whether all the individuals are I'm not sure, but the theory they are using is definitively sound.

Only gripe is that Hayden Walsh Jr wasn't bowling that badly and could have been given a couple more by Pollard. I think he is being very protective of him, perhaps overly so.

It is always awesome to see West Indies win but I find it somewhat funny that they are becoming good at ODI cricket just after the World Cup ended. Hope they hit a similar stride before next year's T20 World Cup.

All about the team management and selectors. This lot are displaying common sense whereas Floyd Reifer, Courtney Browne and Jason Holder were busy ruining quite a talented bunch and not using the whiteball cricket experience of the likes of Pollard. Now we're combining the young talents of Hety, Pooran and Hope with the streetsmarts of Pollard.

I really enjoyed watching Shreyas Iyer bat also, as I do every time he gets some runs. Such a solid batsman.

Good win by us. Hetty going mad dash like he was batting at the Area H ground in Rose Hall Town (home ground of former ODI player, Royston Crandon).

The Chennai pitch played like the Area H pitch. Runs hard to come by.

I'm impressed with our bowling depth. Guys pulling themselves up. Sheldon Cotterell delivering the goods. Keemo Paul is a natural wicket taker, Hayden Walsh Jr needed more overs, good contrast between him and Chase.

I think we can give Holder a rest and test Romario Shepherd.

As well as Hope and Hetmeyer played, I think Cottrell was the difference between the two sides, and the fact that Windies took their catches and we didn't. :)

Yeah, I think he's been our best white ball bowler this year. He got Kohli a few times, which is just a confidence boost to an already confident individual.

He's gonna get picked up by an IPL franchise this week; stocks are high. He's a fan favorite.

I'm not as enthused about the bowling and think that was an above-par total the way the pitched played in the first innings but do agree that Cottrell is a shining light and would be shocked if an IPL franchise didn't come in for him. Swings the new ball, has the variations and a relatively solid death bowler - would be stunned if an IPL franchise didn't go in for him and with my team being RCB think they need a Cottrell or Jordan or both in their franchise as I assume the likes of Cummins will go for massive money so a Cottrell could be a decent value signing.

However, aside from Cottrell, not sure any of the others are either consistent/proven or good enough in 50 over International Cricket. However, Paul and Joseph are still young and I'm a fan of Paul - just worry if he might end up a bit like Chris Jordan in ODIs in being good at the death but not so great in the overs before it. Walsh Jr. is inexperienced and don't want to be all doom and gloom but think the bowling resources aren't great but hopefully can keep a relatively similar team together over 4 years and every player then knows their roles and have more exposure to international cricket heading into next World Cup.

Great innings by Hetmyer, looked like he was batting on a different pitch and glad that he fought through the cramp, was a tad concerned he'd throw it away when he got cramp but overcame it, slowed down marginally but crucially stayed in and made the equation much more comfortable when he finally got out. Not going to do that every day, not even the Kohli's of this world do that in ODI's all the time but just hope he can cut out some of the more unnecessary dismissals as once he can do that there's no reason he can't be one of the elite ODI players in this generation - but he is young and its a fine line as his positive cricket is what makes him such an exciting player.*
