If we needed more proof that Jadeja is a non batsman in t20s...

He has a strike rate of 100.

Have to stay deep in your crease and keep the weight back on this sort of pitch. Almost like what Chris Gayle does on any pitch. Pant (who somehow still ended up with a good score), Sundar, Jadeja and Iyer were all planting their feet down the pitch with their heads falling over. It's no wonder they struggled for timing.

Historically India does have a problem in slow pitches. Remember the T20 match where Santner and Sodhi owned us.

Our guys just haven't slowed it down today with the ball. Firing it in is just asking for trouble.

Pooran came in and just do what he does best...finishing off an innings. Man is in prime form.
A good win for us. Seems like it was ages since we last won a game against these opponents.

India's team selections in the lead up to the World Cups leave a lot to be desired in the recent past. And then half way through these tournaments, the team management realizes that they don't even have the best group of players.

lol inb4 dhenier gets the nod for next year's wc

They should stop picking bowlers who can bat and batsmen who can bowl. Should instead try batsmen who can bat and bowlers who can bowl.

And why does rohit get a pass for bad scores any other player would be questioned about his form

Whatever it takes!!!
Coz Virat is a hot rod for attention when we lose games. :)

Windies are just a better T20 side than us in these conditions. We may have the advantage on the bigger grounds in Australia though. Their batsmen seem to specialize in some of those 6s by 3 or 4 yards stuff. Expecting Shami and Kuldeep to make the side for next game ahead of Chahal and Bhuvi/Chahar.

Simmons and Pooran are a wee bit more frightening than the other regular Windies hitters, in that they can also milk the ones and twos between the big shots, and run well between the wickets. Its almost impossible to keep them quiet even for few deliveries unless they are in really bad form on these wickets.

Simmons and Lewis love playing against India in T20s.

Don't think there's much to be read into this defeat, except that India are nowhere near as good as T20s as in the longer formats, which I am completely fine with. :) Also, it's an inherently harder version of the game to dominate consistently.

Agree. India aren't that good but selection are entirely in their hand. They need to take a final call on whether they are going to go in with Washington, Dube, Krunal and Jadeja. I personally think they should pick specialists and not "all-rounders" with exception of Hardik.

I feel India's bowling attack looks a bit toothless and clueless in limited overs if a few aggressive batsmen really take the attack to them. Has happened in way too many high-profile matches recently - CT final, WT20 semifinal, vs. England in the WC this year. Dhoni seemed to have a better knack of controlling proceedings on the field in limited overs matches even when he had to use troll part-time spinners like Raina, Yusuf Pathan, Yuvraj etc. It's weird because Kohli's Test captaincy rarely sees India lose control of matches within a session or two, they always keep the scoring under control even if they are not picking up wickets.

In T20s things happen so quickly as you said. There is no recovery time. Kohli is forced to bowl the same bowlers even though they are getting thrashed. This is where Bumrah is so important. Would definitely give Shami and Kuldeep a go in the coming matches. Getting top order wickets consistently is of great help.
