2nd warmup game tonight for England. Build upto the world t20s next year.

From the squad here currently you'd think Bairstow, Morgan and Rashid are the 3 definites for the Worlds assuming good fitness.

Rest are competing for a limited numbers of spots given Roy, Buttler, Hales, Root, Willey, Stokes, Ali, Wood and Joffra are waiting in the wings.

Lost two early on but now Vince and Morgan showing some form. It's good for our fringe first class players to bowl to Eoin Morgan and the likes though.

Verma is on fire... two wickets in two balls. Verma used to play for Firebirds and was a T20 specialist. Form NZ Under 19 rep as well. Went back to Hamilton after about couple of years or three with Firebirds but wasn't contracted by ND.

Games probably over for the day, about to get some thunder. Our NZ XI are doing much better than expected for mostly fringe provincial players.

Hmm, turns out they've just gone back on. Must be having remarkably different weather in Lincoln to Christchurch right now

Munro leading from the front with a blazing century to lead the NZ XI to an unlikely victory. I wish Leopard, Clarke and Clarkson had an opportunity to bat though.

Yeah I don't object to a couple of senior domestic guys in these NZ XIs, but having three of the top four as Munro, Devcich, Kitchen while the ponies sit in the shed all match is going a little far.

Was wondering where is the thread for this series... What's the story with the test matches not counting for test championship points? I don't understand why ICC would agree to something like this. Every test match should count for championship points. Now without the points it sounds like a not so important two test matches.

Thought there was an England in NZ thread some time ago after England announced their squad, but dunno where it's gone.

Think people were underrating England - sure there were some players rested but there are also some young players keen to impress, they always have bowlers who will do well in NZ conditions (Curran will), plus a few calls like Butler over Bairstow that I think could pay off for them.

NZ batting. Richard Boock was saying yesterday it was looking like a sell-out.

Is there a reason this thread isn't pinned with the other official tour threads?

T20 only last 3-4 hours. It'll be over when people start leaving work.
Yeah, this is my point. I know at-ground attendance is great, but we know TV trumps all - and I'll miss most of it. Or I would if I wasn't bunking off watching it on Sport Now. Isn't that grand, an online sport service that works a treat?
