How many hundreds will Smith score?

Say Smith scores 3 hundreds a year until he's 33. That puts him on 35 hundreds. Then say he slows down to 1 a year after that. Playing for 5 more years puts him at 40 tons over all. That's about what I expect, though maybe he has a few more than that in him.
3 hundreds a year? He's hit 11 in his last 21 tests

It's a conservative estimate.

Yeah but what if he hits a form slump where he doesn't make a hundred in 18 months like Hayden in 04/05? Then 9 hundreds over three next three years is eminently reasonable.

If his form dips in a few years, 40-50.

If he continues his current form for another 5-6 years, he would end up with 65 centuries.

Smith hasn't had a dip in form yet (not since first few tests/debuting as an all-rounder rather than a specialist batsman).

Be interesting to see if/when it does happen:
- How it happens and his response to it
- How long
- When

Just puts Sachin's achievements, in particular longevity, into perspective - Smith - despite his Bradman-lite stats, is only half way there (less than half the tests of course).

His dip in form was the fifth Ashes test.

The first year he’s got none.
