Is this world test championship designed to help India win?

Absolutely bonkers this 120 points spread out amongst the entire series, I swear India play more 2 or 3 match series and then obviously less 5 match series than England/Australia. They will have 4 wins from 4 and deserve to be top but not based on the points system.

But England have to now go to New Zealand and play a 2 match series for no reason. Even if either England or Aus had won all 5 they'd have been playing catch-up

Well based on evidence thus far, a 5 test series with South Africa would have ended 8-0 to India.

India tours Australia and NZ though iirc.

I think NZ had the best fixtures set up for them. They avoid both England and South Africa entirely.

Can we get the tail out quickly one goddamn time.

We’ve generally gotten better at it though definitely give them too long a rope. Ability to knock tail out quickly is underestimated IMO (when some bowlers are “penalised” for taking lower order wickets when posters in threads start digging too deep into stats to prove points). It’s fine cos we have a 400+ lead but if we’d only put up 350 on the board this tail wagging saps momentum and doesn’t help morale.

Also where absolutely unplayable bowlers like Bumrah are really really crucial.

There's nothing really happening with the ball after it gets a bit older.
Its almost as if you do proper test match batting, get yourself in and not play unnecessary aggressive shots you can cash in later? Who would have thunk.

One thing this series has solidified is that India is the no 1 bowling attack in the world. They perform well everywhere. Can't even recall when was the last bad series they had.

A bench player turning it up when required like Umesh Yadav did is so fantastically handy for a team.

Would love to see Kuldeep play the last test, too.

umesh should get a chance to play county cricket tbh

might be good for him down the line if he wants to become a bowling coach in a few years

Nice to see India enforce the follow on. Could have easily got some cheap runs this morning.
Markram may need to move down. Its either feast or famine with him and he loves a duck.
