Yeah in 2 years a lotta things change though, was just thinking a direct comparison done immediately after would be interesting.

Here's the total points according to my count - I've included Red Hill's top 20 (which I don't think mr_mister did), and whether I do that or not, it doesn't quite agree with what mr_mister has posted so far but it's probably reasonably close, at least towards the top:

2 Sachin Tendulkar 485
3 Virat Kohli 473
4 AB de Villiers 448
5 Ricky Ponting 400
=6 Michael Bevan 365
=6 MS Dhoni 365
8 Brian Lara 259
9 Rohit Sharma 219
10 Dean Jones 204
11 Adam Gilchrist 190
12 Zaheer Abbas 173
13 Sanath Jayasuriya 147
14 Mike Hussey 119
15 Jos Buttler 111
16 Saeed Anwar 107
=17 Aravinda de Silva 101
=17 Kumar Sangakkara 101
19 Javed Miandad 97
20 Joe Root 91
21 Mark Waugh 90
22 Hashim Amla 84
23 Gordon Greenidge 77
24 Kane Williamson 75
25 Sourav Ganguly 68
26 Ross Taylor 67

Michael Clarke not good enough to be even in top 45? He has a pretty good average.
List is purely based on CW members, both those with educated and uneducated opinions. That's all it represents.

That said I'm not sure Clarke would make a top 45. I don't even know if he'd make an Aus ATG ODI 2nd XI

The difference between Rohit and Warner is annoying me. It is very close and IMO Warner is the better one amongst them.

Arun Finch keeps on keeping on. Never mentioned re Australian AT teams (probably because there’s only one opening spot up for grabs), but his record is enormous imo.

The problem is that modern openers have all been statistically massive and Finch hasn't been the best of those.
