Has less relevance as teams only play there every 4 or 5 years at best, whereas India play games outside Asia far more frequently.

More frequently than India :p
since we play half of the matches at home and the remaining one third in asia
i think we will require less Fast bowlers than ENG :D :p

But you'd like to think India would manage not to lose that other one sixth of matches (although I'm pretty sure your fractions are a bit off there). No matter where you play, you can't be a great team without some quality pace, because spin won't get you gold everywhere. Added to that, the current Indian spinners haven't been amazingly successful either. I believe Harbhajan has one of the best (if not the best) average of Indian bowlers of all-time.

Hey, this is good - like one of those old mathematical puzzles about three farmers owning a hundred sheep......... excuse me.

Why are there so many New Zealanders looking at this?

We have a decent pace attack now. Inexperienced but talented. And Anil Kumble's performances away have improved immensly.

I was correct then and it proves my point perfectly.

A half plus a third is five sixths (5/6), therefore the remainder of the games is one sixth (1/6).

That said, upon re-reading your post, I don't quite grasp the sense in it.

india play a total of 18 series of which 12 is in asia
As i have said like this 18/2+(18/2)/3=12

and add u r 1/6 to it it means another 18/6=3

so where did the other 3 go man :-O :-O :-O

i think this is turning into a maths post

I know, I know. Does this mean I can ask the next question?

Liam's third should have been a third of the away matches only. Half are at home (all Asia), a third of the AWAY games are only a sixth.

Liam tried to roll a six-skinner with five Rizlas.
