not able to watch right now but that sounds like an all time great/bad drop
It was shocking

It was equal in magnitude to the one he caught at gully against the WI a few years back with one hand at full strength (think those details are correct, he's taken a few screamers like that I think)

Boult good spell but he dropped
D.Silva C & B

Meanwhile karunaratne completed 12000 First Class runs in 283 innings

Patel looked very dangerous there, Dilruwan's arm ball could really come into play later.

These 2 getting through to lunch would be quite ideal, need to bat out this day at the very least to be safe

Another example of how Boult much the better bowler than Southee despite them having similar records. Trenty just finds ways of picking up wickets even when not at his best.

Need him to get Dimuth though, the latter has been in "over my dead body" mode all series long.
Well, as I was saying..

Good on Southee for making stuff happen just when all of us were growing dissatisfied once again. Would be cool if he can run through the lower order now.

Been a good bowling effort all around but man the dropped catches just keep holding NZ back. While it looks like batting first might be a bonus in these conditions if they continue to bring all kinds of bowlers into the game (not a bad thing from a neutral's POV obviously), it's also NZ's best chance of forcing a win if the weather keeps intervening.

Yeah we've made it through to day 3 only 6 down but very unconvincing lol

Scrape to something over 200 by lunch tomorrow and hopefully with some more interruptions and some good bowling the damage can be limited and NZ run out of time to make anything of the game, they're well on top

Excellent case of the commentators curse there - Ramiz crowing on about how Patel should develop a ****ing chinaman variation or something because he has no arm ball...

Literally next ball Ajaz shoots one through and beats the Perera pull shot to trap him straight in front

good anti-jinx there

he's jadeja. will just wheel in all day doing a couple of things really well. if the pitch is made for him, you're dead.

tbf unlike jadeja he can take wickets in (domestic) nz.

southee's in a nice channel today

Hope we can get Lakmal quickly this time. Another pesky 40-odd from him is the last thing we need.

Yes I'm claiming that one for Ajaz - think anti jinxes in this thread earned both boult and southee's double wicket overs too iirc.

Chandimal would slot in very nicely somewhere in this middle order to help bolster it and make us a little less prone to collapse.

NZ haven't been great this morning, Patel has been short and wide too often and the short ball tactic didn't really work for Boult, DdS is set to do a Dickwella here

This is still a 300 par score pitch, not sure why suddenly SL are looking to thrash, bat till lunch and post 230 and the game is almost dead
