    England Tour Sri Lanka 2020

I am planning to go to Sri Lanka when England are touring in March 2020. We wanted to go there anyway but have waited until England were touring. Does anyone know when the dates are likely to be announced and if it will be possible to buy tickets in advance in this country without having to buy a specialist tour

    Thanks for that.

Anyone know roughly when tickets will be available

Also, will I be able to buy tickets when I arrive in SL or should I buy them online before I go ?

It is planned to be on March 2020. The exact dates and venues are not yet announced.

I don't think the tickets are available online yet as the dates are not fixed. However, don't worry we will not have issues with regards to tickets as test matches don't draw as much crowds as ODIs and T20s in this part of the world.

Please do come to Sri Lanka there is so much to watch in addition to Cricket

Thanks IndijaJ. Our plan is to spend about about 4 weeks in SL and possibly 4 weeks in South India as well. We have long wanted to go to SL but have waited to coincide with this tour. I appreciate that it is in March but I was just trying to understand when the dates would be announced. We have a rough itinerary for our trip but can't finalise anything until the exact dates are known.

I met some very nice people from SL at some WC games a few weeks ago !!

Awesome! I hope the dates will be announced quickly. With one test likely to be held at Galle, you can spend some quality time in beaches at that part of Sri Lanka.

Thanks IndikaJ. Beaches are not our thing. We like history and culture and there is a lot of that in SL !!

Shetland, if it is anything like previous tours to SL then you can certainly buy your tickets over there......no need to buy in advance via a tour group.

There is always a **** storm over ticket prices though as the SLC adopt a 2 tier pricing policy which pisses a lot of people off. Basically expect to pay a lot more than the locals to sit in the same stands, that said compared to the UK the tickets are still very reasonably priced.

Thanks Adders, good to know I can buy tickets when I am there.Any idea roughly how much the best seats cost ?

We have traveled a lot in Asia and 2 tier pricing is commonplace and I don't have a problem with it
