*Official* Australia A in England 2019

Leus de Plooy looks a quality player. No wonder he had such a good FC record back in South Africa
He's not really played much top level cricket before this season. Only just come into the Derbys side and didn't play the franchise cricket over there.

South Africans' first class stats are weird because their three-day regional competetion has FC status despite not having any of the best players in it.

Still, 24 years old and a nice statement to make in his first season in England

And another 50 from 22 balls after that.

They opened the bowling with a batsman and then threw the ball to the 18 year old 2nd XI player. Oof. Good luck lad.

Seems to have jagged two wickets among the carnage, so fair play to him

Yeah I am well aware of how the South African FC system works, the majority of his runs were indeed in the 3 day stuff. But he did play a little bit for the Knights and was pretty impressive, would have got more opportunities had he not moved back to Pretoria before the 18-19 season.

Matthew Wade, that was truly phenomenal. Definitely think he still has plenty to offer for Australia against the white ball

So Test_fan_only, still think this one-day stuff has no impact on Ashes selection lol

Matthew Wade seems to be a batting God, no matter what ball is used...

117 off 67, 155 of 71 and sets a new Australian List A record of century off 45 balls :)

How can he not get picked in Ashes squad ;)

Wade's innings here proves nothing. I am going to take them about as seriously as Derbyshire took the match judging by the young, inexperienced and low quality attack they brought into the match.

I never said anything about the one day games being used or not being used for selection of the Ashes squad, but just because they might have an impact, rightly or wrongly, does not mean they are part of the 2019 Ashes or belong in this section of the forum. The test matches against Sri Lanka and India are going to have a large impact on the test selection but their threads are not in here because they are not part of the 2019 Ashes.

You have ruined this thread by combining both tours into one thread, you are an enemy of cricket.

Lol, knew you were lurking.

Happy for the mods to change the thread title to 'Australia A one-day tour' and delete FC games from first post if it's affecting your will to live so much lol

Eh I think I'll just move it out of the Ashes forum but leave it as one thread. Limited overs and FC games games being considered part of the same tour is a very common practice for CricketWeb threads -- A-team tours and actual internationals not so much.

In fairness Wade has been in really good form for the last 12 months or so...isnt just this tour...so he's firmly knocking on the door
