Maxi really showing why he should bat top order and not bloody 7 in white ball stuff. For better or for worse he's a compulsive shot maker, usually aerial ones too.

May as well let him do that with only 2 deep fielders to worry about so he has a way bigger margin for error. Otherwise he has to combine big hitting with surgical precision which obviously won't come off often. Came in after 2 early wickets but still struck at 200 in the PP ensuring it didn't get wasted

Got Australia into a very winning position with his batting, can't be blamed for them nearly throwing it away.

So I only looked at the scorecard but was Dhoni's innings as bad as it looks on paper? And if so how does he keep getting picked?

Feel as though this question gets asked nearly every game

And Wade is the biggest one. Khawaja being picked in the ODI side ahead of Wade is insanity. Unless he's in peak form (which doesn't happen often) Khawaja will be useless in ODIs. The best you can hope for is him getting out early so he doesn't waste too much time.

Carey is clearly not up to it either. I'd just give Wade the gloves tbh, he's been fine recently. His keeping was just as good, if not better, than Carey's during the Big Bash. Wade's issues with keeping have been more in red ball cricket because he has concentration issues.

Darcy Short bowling two overs for ten runs is a genuine MOG.

Richardson is not one of our best three ODI quicks.

Agree that Wade > Carey though.

He’s a genuine bowling option isn’t he? Very handy for a part time wrist spinner.

A bit like Mike Bevan. Now only if he could bat like him (odis)

Denied about 6+ singles only to swing wildly and pop it to the 30 yard. As difficult to bat as it was in the later overs, it was just painful to watch. Tbf if there was someone else on the other end who could bat he would get those singles and be at an sr of 100. Not great but in the context not that bad either.

It's time to demote Dhoni from ATG to ATVG

Fair enough, but I didn't count those unavailable for selection for whatever reason, of people who could have been picked that weren't there really is not many
