Ie depending on if that is a galaxy they are circling, or a brown eye.
Haha. Space is very funny. First Uranus and now the brown eye.
No. Depending on the distance of Donald and Lee from the telescope. If they are flies on the lense they are very close be it a galaxy (that's a nebula) or an eye.

There's always a pervert around. Tilt your screen ten degrees and that picture looks exactly like an eye that is brown.

Pun intended though.

As great as Donald was, he wasn’t that effective against Australia who were the best players of pace bowling in that era. That does count against him.

Although one can argue he missed out on few prime years without fault of his own.
I know you can only play against the opposition you have to, but using that same logic/argument, flip it around and Lee never had to bowl to Australia, who were clearly not only the best players of pace bowling in that era, but also the best cricket team around by a huge margin (and perhaps the best team of all time even), and STILL had a somewhat mediocre record.

During that later era, Australia had a top seven of epic proportions. Langer, Hayden, Ponting, SWaugh and Gilchrist all averaged 50ish. Plus a combo of MWaugh, Martyn, Lehmann, all averaging 40ish. Plus Lee, , Bichel, Gillespie and Warne who were all very capable as tail-enders. Australians love pace bowling anyway. We aren't scared of it like some other nations.

So, averaging 30 as a pace bowler against that team is fairly decent imo. Donald is the most underrated quick of all time afaic

One always got the sense that if Lee had have been a bit smarter he could have been a potent test bowler but he always reverted to bouncer- Yorker and got smashed around because of it. It was particularly frustrating when he was keeping Kasper/Bichel out of the test side and bowling complete puss.

Ah! a sixth vote for Lee. Thank you, kind sir, whoever you are!

It matters not the least that there are nineteen others who believe that Donald is a moderate upgrade over Lee, particularly in test cricket.
Our strength does not lie in numbers; it is rooted on the courage of our convictions.
We know that the three ODI games, which we will select very carefully, can trump an entire career.

Lol this is going to turn into an attempt to make a Donald v Lee thread into something about Chokedulkar.

isnt even a contest. Donald is an all time cricket great. Lee simply is not, and was expensive in tests.

Their ODI records are in fact quite similar. I was always talking about ODI mind. Didn't think anyone was going to compare Lee and Donald in longer format.
Ah, I assumed you were talking about tests, my bad mate.

You’re preaching to the converted here mate. Lee is the worst bowler to 300 test wickets and is an utter spud.

Also a Tory, so he’s by definition brain dead to boot.

Harbhajan Singh exists, you know. Ishant is well on his way to owning that title without any contention.

If Ishant gets to 330-340 or so by continuing to bowl like he has in the last few years I will consider him better than Lee.

Lee is a really annoying commentator. Part of that flagrantly Aussie banter group including Clarke, Hussey and Warne.

Ponting is a fantastic commentator though. A credit to his nation.

Lee is comfortably worse than either. Was barely test standard for a large chunk of his career. Wasn’t worth a squirt of piss.
