dan do you think this Somerset team would defeat most teams in the World Cup or all the teams in the World Cup

Surrey struggling to finish off the Warwickshire tail. Early days, I know, but drawing every game so far suggests this may be a pattern. Maybe this is Somerset's year, which is something I could live with.

Elsewhere, Alastair Cook's strolled to his 65th FC hundred before being run out. He probably won't keep playing long enough for 100 FC hundreds to be a realistic possibility, unless he hits 10+ this year and next year.

The supposed relegation favourites are well on the way to giving the champions a right walloping at Edgbaston.

Gotta respect Cook for staying on for Essex, his knowledge will be very useful to the next generation there. Wish there was more of that in Australia, quality players continuing at FC level after their international careers have concluded

More might if there wasn't the T20 **** for them to go and play.

I wonder how long Yorkshire will persist with Harry Brook if he doesn't start scoring some runs? He was England under 19 captain and is very highly rated, but his county championship record is woeful and doesn't appear to be going in the right direction.

He's basically paying for the fact that they don't have any top order bats. He's super talented but out of his depth a little bit at the top of the order right now. Other players would be eased in the middle order.

Dunno who opens if they drop him.

They do have a decent top order bat in Adam Lyth, but that doesn't really refute your point as of course you need two openers. Perhaps Brook will retain his place for the rest of the season due to lack of options, but long term an opener struggling to maintain a 20 average isn't sustainable. Of course he has plenty of time on his side to develop as a player and fulfill his potential.

Six potential names for teams in next year's inaugural 100-ball competition The Hundred have emerged.

Stobbs IP, a company specialising in branding, has applied to trademark London Spirit, Southern Brave, Leeds Superchargers, Birmingham Phoenix, Trent Rockets and Welsh Fire.

yes, about 20p.

i'm sure the e.c.b. are leaking out names to see what the public think.

notts at the bottom of the table. they did recruit a lot of 2nd division batsmen. ( slater, duckett, clarke, nash etc). maybe they aren't good enough for a higher division with better bowlers.
clarke has made some runs though.

Harmer bowled Essex to victory again. 12 in the match. Probably won't get 100+ FC wickets for a 3rd year in a row but still, what a champ.
