Strike-rates of some famous batsmen from year's past

AndrewB

International Vice-Captain
Cricinfo gives 1064+, so that'll be the number of balls he faced in the innings where this is "known".

Comparative sr over all 3 formats suggests tests are the most constrained when considering batting strike rates.
That's math. Sehwag, Lara and Laxman tend to express better in tests than LOIs. Laxman would hit a 100 in tests with 14-15 boundaries, whereas his rare 100 in ODI would barely have 7-8 fours.

Can someone confirm if the stats page below statistics for Davidson's batting is correct?

https://www.cricbuzz.com/profiles/6016/alan-davidson

Runs 1328 Balls 1064 (ie 124 runs per 100 balls)

Surely it isn't as it would give him strike rate in Test higer than any Australian ODI player in history??
An innings-by-innings analysis from Charles Davis' z-score blog would suggest that Davidson scored at a rate of 39.00. Quite slow but about average for his era.
