Didn't realise Kaneh was such a minnow-basher. Really makes you re-evaluate what you think you know.

Against non-minnows, Root averages 51.28, KW averages 47.41.

Against Top 6 opposition, Root averages 50.08, KW averages 41.97.

In away/neutral games against non-minnows, Root averages 46.38, KW averages 41.73 (Against Top 6 sides it's 43+ for Root vs 39+ for KW).

Root has a peak rating of 917. KW has a peak rating of 893.

Not sure why KW is so far ahead in this poll
Because its not all about the stats....

To me Root looks the most comfortable at the crease out of all the big 4, I'd still put Smith/Kohli above him because results but not Kane. Root for me.

which one of the fab 4 is the current one people want to boot out? it was kohli then kane, whose turn is it now?

im going to nominate smith because he cheated. go away smith nobody likes you.
Smith's played more test cricket during his ban than KW

NZ may as well learn to appreciate the t10 league as its all they'll have soon

Could you imagine Williamson playing 5 consecutive tests in Australia and not scoring a 100?

Root has ECB money behind him ensuring at least 1 'advertisers' test each series and still he rarely tons up. He's done, too unfit, expect him to average 47-48 when he retires.

LOL, as if NZ will ever get 5 tests anywhere........they don't get to play that in a year mate never mind a series ffs.

Edit:

And 2 tons in his last 4 tests fyi.

Bangers are not strong, but they can't really be called minnows anymore. They are terrible away, but do well enough at home. It's a tough test for visiting bats these days. Might have the toughest conditions to bat in.

It's definitely 2+2. They are still pretty young though. It's possible that Root and Kane could catch up still, but it seems very unlikely.
