That "Why is it..." thread has a lot to answer for.

Another interesting thread descending into direness.

Its just a culture/society thing really. Some cultures are just inherently more corrupt and dishonest than others. The proportion of cricketing cheats from Australia puts even India's count to shame. It really makes you think about the dishonesty underpinning their society.

We have missed out on Border in the comparisons to Aussie batsmen so that Dravid has been compared to the full baton of greatness.

The Ponting-Chappell comparison is a much more interesting one. One feels had Ponting retired when he should have (like Chappell) he could be rated some distance ahead of Chappell. Both of them were great at dominating pace. ***y hookers (heh) of the ball.

Out of the 3 batsmen I've watched, I'd rate Ponting > Dravid > Waugh.

Waugh ought to be the worst cheat. Straight up claimed dropped catches.

The #2 spot is much more interesting. Sandpaper or Underarm?

Anyway, as batsman Chappell>Ponting> Dravid>Border>Waugh IMO.

Can't say for Smith but I expect him to at least surpass Waugh. Will probably overtake Ponting in due time too.
Hahahahahahaha @ rating Dravid ahead of Border. Jfc mate.

As if claiming dropped catches is the only cheating Aussies have done lol

Someone post the video of the current head coach knocking the bails off with his hand and appealing for a hitwicket plz
He didn’t appeal for hit wicket ffs. Simply spiced up an otherwise typically dull cricketing day on the SC.

Ponting is one of those bloke people will look back on in 20 years and thin his average was exceptional but not all time very great, and wonder why people who watched him rave so hard about his batting.

Time for a Border Vs Dravid thread!
Both great team men tbf. Batted where the team needed them depending on the needs of the side, rather than that selectively deaf, selfish elfin who wouldn’t move from four if an earthquake was going to take out only that spot in the order.

haha you guys get so triggered. Claiming catches that didn't hit the edge or lbws that did is the same as claiming a catch on the bounce - BUT DIFFERENT. Because Australia. If it was the other way around you'd change your aspect just to hate on Australia again. Good to see you all choke on your bile. Must be particularly galling because India, Pakistan; in fact no one else cheats. Never did. Never will. Pathetic.

Not enough vegetables in their diet IMO

Like me and Viv?

Same thing happened with Sachin except it was actually during his career because he played for so long.

People forget that he had smashed every record in his 20s and was already being compared to Viv and Bradman. He had a quiet second half of his career and you suddenly get doubters wondering if he really was the second best to ever do it, all whilst waxing lyrical about how you 'had to be there' to see Viv.

Both Ponting and Dravid suffer from this too. Just a natural consequence of having such a long career. You're bound to have started too soon and played on too late. Shouldn't take away from how good a player was in their peak.

He was only being compared to Bradman either aesthetically, or if it was with regards to their records, by people who had some sort of cerebral breakdown.
