DoG's Top 100 Test Bowlers Countdown Thread 100-1

The Battlers Prince

International Vice-Captain
Good ol’ Billy, good to see him so high.
Be interested to see where Wilfred Rhodes comes in. A very long career, one half as a truly great spinner, the second half not so much.

I've just noticed that Kapil and Harbhajan have really low quality points compared to a large number of bowlers ranked behind them.

Surprising number of gold performances from Caddick.
Andrew Caddick, brand new ball, has just been put out of Jade Stadium.

I got criticised the other day for saying that McDermott was noticeably better than Gillespie. Nice to see some vindication.

Declaring vindication with a ranking that says Caddick was noticeably better than Gillespie?

Very impressive set of numbers for Chandra. The twin 6/52 performances against Australia were the first time a bowler recorded identical figures in the same test according to Wikipedia.

I see that Chandra must've held the record for best twin figures in a match before O'Keefe's effort in India last year. Quite remarkable. That whole series always sounded very interesting to me, but there's so little of the offical cricket during the WSC years available.

I looked over Gillespie's career the other night. He was a gun before the turn of the century. After the turn of the century he averaged over 30 in twice as many series as he averaged under 30.

He was the kind of bowler who looked really good but wasn't as effective as he looked. Much like Morkel actually.

Broad's 8/15 is the highest rated bowling performance ever.

The Tiger King
I think Shaun Pollock will be an entry into this group and everyone will be surprised how he ended so low
