I don't think he has been Nine's Brisbane sportsreader for a while. At least that's what Wikipedia says.

Yeah, he didn't impress from what I heard of him. Doesn't seem very confident.
He doesn't seem to have that borderline fatal ego required to be an Australian commentator.

Anyone heading to watch the grade matches on the weekend? Might go down to Coogee if I have the chance

I really hope Wade can push his case for the ODI side. I think he's probably our best choice in that format. A dropped catch every now and then doesn't hurt anywhere near as much as it does in tests.

Glenn "best fielder in Australia" Maxwell just dropped a sitter at point

Carey is decent at the t20 stuff but Wade is much better at the OD stuff.
tbh at this stage I think Wade is probably the better bat at both but Carey's superior glovework and relative youth make him probably the correct pick

edit: Although Carey is 27 and Wade is 30 . . . it's not like he's that much younger. For some reason I always thought Carey was 21-22 the way they talk about him.

6 bowlers, interesting.
I think Milenko has basically been picked as a specialist middle order slogger, like what he does in the BBL. He'll probably only bowl a couple of overs.

All that is fine in theory when the keeper makes the side on batting alone, but their specialist bowlers as a group are such **** batsmen that it's not the call I would have made. Rogers and Rose can hold the bat, but not in the way you'd really want at the end of an OD innings, and they've got three number elevens to follow that.

Ready to re-think your reaction to my blasphemy based on this new information? :p

Alex Carey is not an exciting batting talent.
How dare you

I imagine if Faulkner was about that Dunk would have slipped in somewhere.

Odd that Dunk isn't in the order anyway.
