Don't think that's possible because scorecards didn't record that kind of information until recently.

I did but can’t remember the results, and only against England. Though subsequently I found out he scored 243 against Mankad without dismissal courtesy of Charles Davis.

For a while there they used to bring up Michael Clarke's stats against spin and it he was averaging like 80 or 90 against spinners in Tests. Steve Smith probably a fair call too.

Maybe they just seemed great because they're from a country that can't play spin.

Possibly. Clarke was technically excellent against spin but got dismissed by them more than he should. As for Smith, he is superb against right-arm spin, but the left-armers have had quite a bit of success (relatively, anyway) against him. He's still amongst the best players of spin today, but there's only about 10 players that know how to play spin still playing.

That's definitely true. Used to confuse me as a kid when the commentators would big up Michael Clarke's footwork against spin and how great it was, then he seemed to get stumped a fair bit . . .

He still had some insane stats against them for most of his career though.

That SL attack consisted of 3 okaish to rubbish bowlers and 1 great spinner. That was hardly a great spin bowling unit.

I'd think you'd have be a bit better than 'rubbish-to-okayish' to take 14 wickets in a test. I mean, no one from, for example, South Africa has done it. A really, appallingly silly argument when Murali and Vaas took 50 out of the 60 West Indian wickets in the series. Sounds like a visitor from the school of bollocks as usual.

Charles Davis picks up a small anomaly but the quoted stat is 8 dismissals for 401 runs, one of the best records v Bradman for any type of bowler.

Depending on the method of communication, it may be recoverable.
