Definitely not a positive anymore. It's no longer acceptable to be mediocre overseas. With all the money and resources, there is no excuse. WI were considered 'lovable losers' when they travelled overseas back before they started dominating. India are not lovable. And yet they keep losing.

Yeah I can't get enough of watching India get thrashed overseas. It's so satisfying given how much power Indian cricket wields.

The problem is that BCCI couldn't care less as long as the team generates $$$. Their priorities are playing politics with each other than a cohesive strategy to improve cricket from the grassroots up. The top tier team has all the resources but if you go just below the top level the quality and the resources start dropping dramatically. There is so much talent wasted at the grassroots level with the lack of coaching, equipment, etc etc

Which probably stems back to the caste/ Hindu mentality. The ones at the top are "gods" but the ones beneath that are much less valued.

Thankfully the Australian players stopped CA from making the same mistake.

Since 2014 James Anderson has averaged 19.08 with 135 wickets at home. It's one thing playing in conditions that suit your bowling, but Anderson has really mastered his trade, and I feel he is slightly under-appreciated. Especially considering his staggering longevity that has seen him statiscally peak when other pace bowlers have often already retired. At 36, he is bolwing the best he ever has been. England will really miss him when he eventually retires, which barring injury shouldn't be before the ashes next year. If he keeps this level of performance up he will easily surpass 600 test wickets.

Yes, it certainly was not a 'thrashing' though a few people may believe that it was.
Yes, England bowled very well, but it still is quite disappointing that the batting disintegrated when the conditions were slightly alien.

Yeah but given how teams have fared abroad recently, it's more likely to be a missed opportunity for the touring side.

Can't remember the last time someone came back from behind in a series away from home.

The worry for India is that their bowlers will not be as effective as the series wears on. There are no practice games for the struggling batsmen either so I'm afraid it looks bleak for us.
