I'm certainly not averse, at all, to Richards being listed in a list of some of the best cricketers, and the same thing with Lillee, for the precise reason ss mentioned earlier. For that same sort of reason I'd also not be averse to having Richie Benaud listed there. Lists like the Wisden cricketer of the century are about impact upon the game.

This is very much different to lists of who is the best batsman, which Richards deserves to be behind 10 names at least since the dawn of the 20th-century. Likewise Lillee deserves to be behind at least 5 seam-bowlers.

Not having this argument yet again Except to say they can both be considered the best seamer and the best since Bradman without anyone raising an eyebrow

But that also looks like quite a reliable speed test, also indicating about where radars detect speed today, (judging from the background) can't believe Hadlee didn't do better in accuracy though.

I think it might be a little slower than now, but not sure

Holding picked up a yard of pace in a few years time

Ah of course it's not their fastest and all, but a good representation of your average quickies throwing a few in. Very impressed with that vid.

Just to recap, Wisden polled 100 distinguished ex-players and cricket writers to compile this list, people who had played or seen many hundreds of Test matches between them and knew what they were talking about; what's 'unfair' about that exactly?

    Really?

I knew Beefy was just about the biggest Viv fan there was, but I didn't ever hear or read about him saying that.
