    Bedingham
    Verreyne
    Qeshile
    Mulder
    de Kock

Seems like a high-potential top 7 moving forward.

Breetzke obviously in the discussion too, and I have no doubt we'll unveil one or two highly-talented batsmen to comptee in the coming years, too.

On a side note, how is Ryan Rickelton? Future Test player or not quite?
I like him and have for a while. Following him from younger age groups and through for the Gauteng team he is equally good in all formats. Only have to see his 3-day performances before this season.

But they certainly have pigeon-holed him as a limited overs player and he just hasn't had a great season bar MSL. He didn't play any cricket really from MSL to 50-over comp which was weird.

Right now, the competition for top-order spots is probably seeing him well down the pecking order. The academy squad chosen also probably shows they see J.Malan, Breetzke, de Zorzi and van Tonder as more longer term prospects.

Looks like de Zorzi been left out of the Titans squad all together now due to Diego Rosier's impressive Titans debut last night.

Multiply Titans squad to face the Hollywoodbets Dolphins: Heinrich Klaasen (c), Farhaan Behardien, Corbin Bosch, Junior Dala, Dean Elgar, Heino Kuhn, Gregory Mahlokwana, Imraan Manack, Tshepo Moreki, Chris Morris, Diego Rosier, Marcello Piedt, Jonathan Vandiar, Shaun von Berg
For the Dolphins , with no van Wyk and Frylinck at least Marques Ackerman is likely to come in with Eathan Bosch pushing Calvin Savage.

Sarel Erwee, Vaughn van Jaarsveld, Marques Ackerman, Dane Vilas, Khaya Zondo (c), Sibz Makhanya, Senuran Muthusamy, Keshav Maharaj, Calvin Savage, Eathan Bosch, Okuhle Cele, Prenelan Subrayen, Mthokozisi Shezi, Kerwin Mungroo, Lwandiswa Zuma.

The TV game is Warriors v Knights in East London

It does seem odd. Be very harsh if it is selection on form.

    Got scores of 115*, 99 & 89 with 1, 1, 12

Especially surprising considering in Rosier's 22 50 over knocks for Knights he never passed 15 once, averaging 16 at a S/R of 72. Obviously, the fact he got so many games despite failing suggests a lot of potential... (A bit like how De Zorzi has gone on in 4-day)

Last round of MODC fixtures had no Bedingham, Smith, Cloete, Breetzke, Zondo, de Zorzi , van Tonder which is surprising. Paterson/Burger also left out by Cobras/Lions last game.

Marques Ackerman & Eathan Bosch got first MODC games for Dolphins though. Looking forward to seeing them today but unlikely van Tonder will get into Knights team.

Junior Dala bowling well for Titans. His good is very good but his bad is horrendous.

Rudi Second batted nicely on Friday to get Knights home. Probably premier uncapped batsman in the country.

In other news : Andre Nel joins Essex as assistant coach/bowling coach. He was looking after easterns.

Also it was announced a month or so back but Shane Burger (KZN Inland coach) got the Scotland job. He was held in high regard as he was part of the SA A set-up.

Not only do we lose experienced coaches but young one's as well from our provincial system.

There is an article by Luke Alfred in the Rapport today saying CSA needs money but they want 12 franchises. Be nice if someone can find out more.

In the sunday times it is said the 12 franchise would replace the amateur level. The amateur level will fall away. KZN inland will apparently fall away.

Nothing flashy but really solid decent player...

    Thanks Stefan.

That is what I expected and to be honest I would be fine with that.

KZN Produce a lot of cricketers (particularly bowlers of late) so they will just have to branch out to Free State or Border or Easterns like it always used to be.

SWD will obviously be the 12th team. There has been major investment there.

Long thought his chance for SA team would be as a pure batsman. I thought Klaasen suits the number 7 spot more than him but there is not doubt Second consistently churns out more consistently and is more reliable.

Definitely another that grafts out runs and works hard.

How many aesthetically pleasing players do we have coming through ? Breetzke, Bedingham, de Zorzi come to mind the most from the young one's but Cloete/Erwee are nice when they strike boundaries.

Hamza, de Bruyn, van Tonder, M.Ackerman aren't too bad either. Want too watch more of Qeshile but he looked technically good and compact and Keegan Petersen similar. Like I wouldn't say Faf isn't aesthetically pleasing at times too for example.

Going back to original provincial system. Hopefully will bring back kolpak players playing in our system. It also allows us to keep senior players from retiring earlier than they wanted to.

Going back to 1999. The smaller teams had really good sides and competed in both competitions. Boland/Griquas won the 50-over comp and Easterns won the 4-day Title around that period.

They were weak. They had a youngish Arno Jacobs and the famous David Pryke bowling off the wrong foot but it is much different now, they producing cricketers in North West now.

Eathan Bosch has a smoother run-up and action than his brother. What is he about 6ft3 6ft4 like his old man and you feel he can get too 140 consistently with his build. Definitely a better batting technique and genuine thoughts to rely on him to get 50s and maybe 100s down the order.
