All Time Zimbabwe XI game

Very interesting indeed. I was actually going to go with Alistair Campbell but knew he mainly opened in ODI's but possibly that is all of our thinking on Masakadza because they've mainly played ODI's recently.

Batting an obvious weak point in Zimbabwean/Rhodesia cricket. Particularly openers. Probably all-time would have gone with Ray Gripper and Robert Bentley (who mainly played for Natal after leaving Rhodesia/Zimbabwe on independence). Their great Currie Cup teams also lacked great openers really bar Gripper. There was John McPhun, Jimmy Mitchell and Brian Barbour whereas Tony Pithey could open and did but much better 3-5. Their ODI return they had Ali Shah and Jack Heron I think.

But getting back to the original.

Would've gone Flower+Campbell for the previous, with Masakadza somewhere in the middle

Pretty comfortable wins for all 3.

- Name Zims number 5
- Name a 3rd pace bowler or second spinner.

I was just thinking. Masakadza probably can come under pressure from not only Campbell but Taylor as well if we going for make shift test opener.

I really wanted Whittall to open so we could have two specialist spinners without compromising too much on either the third seamer of the batting. He didn't open lots but he was quite successful at it when he did, and his overall batting record is better than Masakadza's.

As it is now I still want Taylor to bat six, and only having two seamers would be dire, which means Price misses out for me.

Nice thinking that PEWS.

Once I had committed to Price. Mainly due to Zim's home pitches and strengths I have had to think about leaving Taylor out and going for Whittall/Johnson at 6.

 Thinking back, actually remember Whittall stepping up for the team to open. Forgot it was actually a thing. His record was decent like you say.
