Root won't be available throughout the tournament and he's not explosive enough like Stokes to warrant big bucks. He's the kind of batdman you build your middle order around in T20s and his lack of availability in the later stages means he will never go for top dollar.

They are all-rounders!! Good all-rounders are easily the most sought after overseas players, followed by certain pace bowlers.

Batsmen don't get picked much unless they have a big hitting reputation.

And price doesn't matter.. its demand and supply. If teams have a hole to fill, they are going to pay any amount to have it filled.

Hales deserves to be selected over Roy. Better t20 player. Although it's hard to feel any sympathy for Hales the douche.
