Shaw has a bit of Sehwag about him but more technically solid if that is possible. Looks a proper freak in the making.

I have high hopes for this Aus U19 team, even though probably the most promising young paceman is missing through injury. Last time Australia competed in 2014 there wasn't much success, only about 5 or 6 of them have played Shield cricket and Billy Stanlake is the only one even vaguely near the national team. I think the class of 2018 however will be seriously competitive.
By most promising paceman I presume Cameron Green ?

From the new ball attack in this game it would seem to be the case. Bartlett coming back from a stress fracture only mid-120s. But did hit good areas and will get good bounce.

Suprised Zak Evans not in ahead of Ralston ? Who.looks skiddy at 134-136 but looks like a type of bowler who will slide on nicely with limited lateral movement. He does get through the crease quickly.

Yeah Green was indeed who I was referring to. Been playing solely as a batsman as of late, not sure when he is fit to bowl again. As for Evans, I would also be surprised if he doesn't get in next game. Heard him vaugely compared to Pattinson at the same age

The Australian attack looks very limited while Bartlett can't bowl quickly
HD Ackerman was saying strike-bowler Zak Evans has an injury and they hopeful he will be back asap

The attack today cannot be the one Australia can use to seriously get to a SF and final.

Real pity about Cam Green though.

Yeah was somewhat underwhelmed by that. Bartlett definitely looks a bit underdone, there is talent there but today wasn't too good

Commentators compare Indian bowler to Ishant who is then hit for 6 next ball #moresimilarthantheythought

Kohli made his ODI debut in the year 2008 when he was 19. We need to get Prithvi Shaw into the ODI side this year and groom him for the future. Most promising prospect by far. In another 2-3 years he can get into the test batting order at 6 - the ever revolving spot in our test side.

Good luck doing that with Kohli in charge.

Shaw and Gill probably the most likely to get India caps in the next decade. Don't think it'll be soon though given the competition for the positions they bat in.

He's probably 140 at least, I remember watching highlights of him and he seemed to be doing a lot of the batsmen in for pace.

Nagarkotti is listed as a right arm fast bowler on cricinfo. First Indian player to be listed as such before senior level cricket? In my experience, they are all listed as medium bowlers before they debut.

The likes of PNG, Fiji, etc. are such a waste of time in the U-19 World Cup. So much worse then other associates. Nepal and even Scotland are so much better and are missing out. The Pacific region does not deserve an automatic slot in the World Cup. They should be made to playoff with the second best placed Asian and European sides in order to qualify. Wouldn't get through then.
I have heard that now they will be using the same for T20 WC as well

First sighting for me of Qais Ahmed at 0.48 there. The leggie who technically kept Rashid Khan out of this squad; coach Andy Moles making a specific request for Rashid to come back and try to win the whole tourney, the ACB declining it because Rashid isn't actually...I mean, because they really rate Qais too. They've also come up with a new rule that there'll be just one U19 WC appearance per player for them, from now on.
Just all-round impressive from Afghanistan.

Another leggie like you mention Kippax. They had a decent looking quick too + Some great catches in the field.

Waiting for Kippax's skills to get SA captain Raynard van Tonder's 100 up vs Kenya. :D

I see Gerald Coetzee hit the Kenyan opener on the helmet and he had to retire. Just needs to start getting wickets.

Todd Watson being a thing might answer some of thierry henry's questions about how Colin Munro made the NZ Under 19 side as a specialist bowler back in the day.
Damn, I didn't see NZ bowling but my main take away from watching NZ bat was how bad the Windies "pace" bowling was.

2 of their three "quicks" were lumbering unathletic guys bowling 125kph with weird ungainly actions. One of them bowled both pace and spin with the same Virat Kohli "off the wrong foot" bowling action. Pretty uninspiring stuff.
