Eden Gardens is massively overrated because it has a cool name and hosted arguably the greatest test ever. Chennai and Mohali are way better choices for an Indian test ground. Generally better pitches, and have had many more memorable games.
Mohali only had that one good Test against Australia in 2010. The matches are usually played in front of empty stands there.

Lord's & MCG are the obvious ones. + at least one of the big ones from India because, well, 87% of the world's cricket fans are Indian and they'd probably be paying for the series in the first place . . .

The rest are all a toss up really. It would be unfair to use another English or Aus ground when you already have Lord's & MCG, even if they'd deserve it. So to pick one from each country:

MCG
Lord's
Chennai (so Hb can watch)
Wanderers
Sabina Park (have to give one to WI even if the grounds aren't great cause they got some ATG players)

Can't really justify giving NZ, Zim or Ban a game when they mightn't have any players in the game and they don't really have any great venues anyway. Can't go to Pakistan for safety reasons.

Lords' - tradition

MCG - scale

Barbados - pace

Capetown - bounce

Kolkata - spin

Oval - batting, and traditionally the last test
Quite tough to have Lords as first test and Oval as last test since both have to be scheduled in June.
