Ian Chappell's new piece on CI marginalizing Kane?

Can I just add also that it's literally impossible to marginalize white people, so this thread is a sham and should be locked with due haste.

I think Babar Azam will be included among the big X in years to come. Fantastic young talent.

Pujara IMO is a batting version of Ashwin ie he's only good for SC conditions. Kohli is no god outside the SC but atleast he's not completely hopeless like pujara.
Kohli was absolutely hopeless in England, Pujara was just merely bad, granted Kohli does have a really good record in Australia and South Africa, but it's not like Pujara has been bad in either of those countries, averaging just shy of 40 in those countries for his first tours there isn't bad IMO.

With the exception of South Africa where he was decent, pujara has been hopeless everywhere outside the SC. Kohli was awful in England but that's pretty much it. 45>38

Seems like Chappell has been waiting forever to write this article because he loves attacking openers and needed evidence that Warner could score pivotal runs outside Australia.

Strangely myopic piece from Chappell in how he acts like it’s just the India series where Warner struggled; he was equally disappointing in Sri Lanka and even in NZ last year (where Oz bats dominated) he scored very few runs. And his record in the West Indies over two tours is fairly lousy.

Yeah, Warner’s a gun in Australian conditions and he stood up in Bangladesh. But he’s too ordinary too often in non-Oz conditions in the past couple of years to be seriously considered amongst the ‘big 4’.

Awta. Absurd that Ian would suggest this in the first place. He must have some idea (we assume) of Warners record outside Oz.

Still think Davey Warner could do much better outside Aust tbh. Hopefully there is still time for him
