Draft suggestion: Passengers XI

AndrewB

International Vice-Captain
Geoff Cook: OK, we didn't expect him to be the new Graham Gooch... but he wasn't even close to being as good as the other players who weren't the new Graham Gooch.
Adam Lyth: Cook's recent partners haven't been great, Lyth is perhaps the first among mediocrities.
Keith Arthurton: One of the better passengers in the XI; even so, he still scored 3 ducks in his best series and I suspect carrying the others would be beyond him.
Bill Playle: Playing in a side who were repeatedly crushed by England and he was still being outbatted by his team-mates.
Lord Hawke: Classic example of "successful captain who didn't actually contribute much himself" - let's see how inspiring his captaincy is with this rabble...
Parthiv Patel: Could bat a bit, but if this attack ever manages to beat the bat he's not the most reassuring of presences behind the stumps.
Ajit Agarkar: Had a couple of great days in Tests, among 7 pretty awful years.
Tony Pigott: Got into the England side once by sheer chance, and never really looked like getting back in it again.
Bryce McGain: Just to prove that it's not just England who were so desperate for a leggie that they'd pick anyone.
John Warr: Arguably was picked for England too soon.Certainly wasn't dropped too soon.
Patterson Thompson: Maybe the best ever name for a fast bowler, but no-balls and boundaries were more common than wickets.
