Draft suggestion: Passengers XI

The Battlers Prince

International Vice-Captain
William Rodriguez of West Indies who produced one fifty from 5 matches and 7 wickets at about 53. Only two wins but he didn't really have much to do with them.

I think I need to invoke the eleventh commandment

"Dowe shall not bowl"

ie that underwhelming early 70s West Indian quick Uton Dowe

AndrewB

International Vice-Captain
Geoff Cook

With Gooch and Boycott (and Larkins) banned in 1982, England were as desperate for a new opener as they are now; but while now it's "who should open with Cook", back then Geoff Cook was one of those who tried and failed. That said, he could argue that he was a lucky mascot - in the 1982-3 Ashes England lost the 2 Tests when he wasn't playing, while somehow his 1, 7, 10, 26, 8, 2 in the other 3 Tests "helped" England to a win and 2 draws.

Cricketer Of The Year
I'll take Gavin Robertson, off spinner who hardly moved the ball at all & ended up with a FC average of 41. Played 4 Tests for Australia all thanks to being a New South Welshman
