He is the first batsman to score 1000 runs in 4 consecutive years averaging 70+ each year iirc.

Sorry for the double post not really a milestone but an interesting tidbit, Smith currently scores centuries at the third highest rate in history behind Bradman and Headley.

In case anybody didn't realise Smith equalled Sobers as 2nd fastest to 6000 runs. He has 19 innings to beat Hammond to 7000.

Just answered my own question here as didn't think cricinfo had this but it seems quite a few then. Seems like the 20th time. The last one was Javed Omar of Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe in 2001

I think this would be the highest score without a double century. The previous was WI's 8/692 at the Oval in 1995.

SL just declared on 713/9, no doubles
